Golf in Halland County

Golf in Halland follows a long coastal county but rarely settles into one repeated kind of seaside landscape. In the north, the 18-hole course at Vallda Golf & Country Club crosses open, rolling ground with classic Scottish heathland character. Shaped playing surfaces and broad terrain separate it from the greener parkland courses farther south. At Tvååker, Varberg Golf Club Västra presents another eighteen-hole heath course with large, undulating greens. Its open ground separates Västra from the club's eastern woodland and parkland course.

Falkenberg Golf Club gathers three courses. An 18-hole course and a nine-hole course move through parkland and woodland, while a separate technical course has five holes. Golfers can follow a complete eighteen-hole round, play nine holes or choose the five technical holes within the same parkland and woodland setting.

Several of the county's courses gather around Halmstad. At Tylösand, Halmstad Golf Club has the North and South courses, each with 18 holes. Tall pines form enclosed spaces around the holes on the North Course, while the South follows its own complete route. Ringenäs contains 27 holes arranged as three nine-hole loops beside the coast. The loops create an 18-hole round and a separate nine-hole course. Halmstad Golfarena adds Arenabanan, a nine-hole course with links character and views towards the sea. One urban area therefore contains two complete courses, three combinable nine-hole loops and nine open coastal holes.

In the far south, Laholm Golf Club has three courses with clear differences. Vallen is an 18-hole course in broadleaf woodland around the Smedjeån River. Stegan has nine holes on hillier ground beside Lake Stegasjön, and a separate nine-hole short course completes the property. Halland can consequently be encountered through heath, pine, broadleaf woodland, rivers, lakes and open coastal terrain. Hole counts change as much as the landscape, from five short holes to two complete eighteen-hole rounds on the same property.

Halland changes all the way from Vallda's open heath in the north to Laholm's broadleaf woodland and lakeside ground in the south. At Tvååker, large undulating greens emphasise the heath; at Tylösand, pines frame two complete courses; and at Ringenäs, the coast is divided among three nine-hole loops. Arenabanan leaves more open ground and sea in view, while Vallen and Stegan turn towards the Smedjeån River and Lake Stegasjön. The same coastal county therefore holds broad heathland lines, enclosed pine spaces and greener rounds beside river and lake.

Halmstad Golfklubb

Halmstad Golf Club has two eighteen-hole courses at Tylösand, the North and South courses. Tall pines divide the North Course into enclosed spaces and give the round a strong woodland frame. The South follows a different complete route through the same coastal area. Golfers can therefore experience Tylösand along two separate paths, with the North defined by its pine rooms and the South standing as a full round of its own.

Vallda Golf & Country Club

Vallda Golf & Country Club follows an eighteen-hole course with classic Scottish heathland character in northern Halland. The holes cross open, rolling ground where shaped playing surfaces stand clearly against the wider landscape. Close woodland and formal park planting do not take over; the heath keeps views broad and the movement of the ground visible. That open quality returns throughout the round and separates Vallda from Halland's greener woodland and parkland courses.

Varbergs Golfklubb Västra

Varberg Golf Club Västra is an 18-hole course at Tvååker. Heathland character and large undulating greens recur throughout the round as defining elements. The more open ground distinguishes Västra from the club's eastern course, where woodland and parkland dominate. It represents a different side of golf around Varberg from the greener terrain farther east. The shaped greens reinforce the open, continuous heath.

Falkenbergs Golfklubb

Falkenberg Golf Club contains three courses within the same parkland and woodland setting. The main course has eighteen holes, a separate nine-hole course sits beside it, and a technical course contains five holes. Golfers can follow a full round, choose nine holes or play the five technical holes without leaving the property. Trees and parkland return around all three, while the hole counts separate the full round from the nine and the five technical holes.

Laholms Golfklubb

Laholm Golf Club has three courses in distinct parts of the landscape. Vallen contains eighteen holes in broadleaf woodland around the Smedjeån River. Stegan has nine holes on hillier ground beside Lake Stegasjön, while a separate nine-hole course gathers shorter holes. River and woodland follow Vallen, lake and changing elevation shape Stegan, and the short course provides a concentrated round beside them. One property therefore brings together river valley, lakeside terrain and shorter golf.
