Golf near Kalmar

Across the water on Öland, Saxnäs Golf Club moves between parkland and woodland. Mature oaks, water and a mixture of narrow and broader fairways shape its eighteen holes, while a separate five-hole course provides a shorter round on the same ground.

South of the city, Binga Golf occupies rural ground at Ljungbyholm. The nine-hole course lies between the Ljungbyån River, lines of trees and rolling fields, far removed in character from the courses beside the sound. Together, the three courses reveal several sides of the Kalmar area: coastal double courses, island parkland and woodland, and a smaller round rooted in river and farmland. Kalmarsund, the mature oaks at Saxnäs and the fields beside Ljungbyån give the three rounds unmistakably different settings, even though all are reached from the same city.
