Golf in Västmanland County has no single centre. Courses extend from Sala and Fagersta in the north to Köping and Arboga in the west, while the Västerås area brings several golf settings close to Lake Mälaren. The spread gives golfers a choice of both direction and kind of round. Some clubs devote the grounds to one 18-hole course, while others add a shorter course of five, six, seven or nine holes.

Sala Golf Club has an 18-hole course and a separate nine-hole course. All three locations support a complete round and a shorter course at the same site, but the different hole counts keep those options from feeling interchangeable. In the northern and western parts of the county, geography provides another distinction. Sala and Fagersta anchor golf in the north. Köping and Arboga bring outdoor courses to the west, with Köping also adding a separate indoor golf venue. Courses sit closer together around Västerås, yet the rounds remain different. Västerås Golf Club has one 18-hole course with no short course beside it. Skerike combines its 18 holes with the nine-hole EnviLoopen. At Frösåker, the decision also involves the landscape. The 18-hole Stora banan moves through woodland, parkland and lakeside holes, while the separate nine-hole Linksbanan has a more open links character beside Lake Mälaren.

Västmanland therefore offers several lasting reasons to choose one location over another. Fagersta, Köping and Västerås suit golfers looking for one main course. Sala, Arboga, Surahammar and Skerike provide a shorter round alongside 18 holes. Frösåker combines different course formats with a marked change between tree-framed ground, open links character and the presence of Lake Mälaren. Köping Indoorgolf

Köping Indoorgolf is a place for golf under cover. It is separate from the 18-hole course at Köping Golf Club and is not part of the outdoor round.
