Three different parts of inland Småland meet around Växjö. At Växjö Golf Club, the eighteen-hole course moves between parkland and woodland beside Lake Helgasjön. Water returns along several holes rather than remaining a distant view, and a separate six-hole course sits beside the main route.

West of the city, Alvesta Golf Club crosses the ground at Kronobergshed. Its eighteen holes alternate between open parkland and woodland while remaining one continuous inland round. Golf near Växjö can thus mean repeated contact with Helgasjön, twelve holes at Glasriket, or a complete route through the park and forest of Kronobergshed. Each setting lets a different part of inland Småland shape the day.

Glasriket Golf Club near Växjö places an eighteen-hole course beside a separate twelve-hole course. Twelve holes sit between the familiar nine and a full eighteen, yet the smaller course follows a route of its own through the property. Golfers can choose two differently sized rounds without treating the twelve as a shortened repeat of the main course. Grassland and stands of trees take turns framing the round, placing it firmly within inland Småland. Kronobergshed differs from the lakeside courses around Växjö, yet its park and forest sections remain connected throughout the same course.
